Yesterday mom and I ventured out to the fabric stores to purchase the fabric for the baby room. I have to say if someone where just listening to us or watching us it was probably very funny. We had NO CLUE what we were doing since neither mom or I sew. I had gone and met with my friend Joanna to discuss how much fabric I needed and had it all written down, BUT I could not for the life of me figure out what I did with the papers I wrote it down on. So mom and I are at the fabric store and I am trying to remember what I was supposed to get and trying to figure out the measurements etc. I ended up calling Joanna and the poor woman.. she had to go and measure everything over again for me and I had to write everything down. Thank God that Joanna is such a wonderful woman and took the time to do that again for me. I then talked to the lady at the store to make sure I understood exactly what Joanna told me and that I was getting the correct amounts of fabric for each thing. Well then we went to pull out one of the fabrics so she could cut it and it just so happened another woman came in wanting the same fabric. I needed 9 yards she needed 5. It was by the grace of God that there was EXACTLY the right amount for both of us left on the roll! Anyway we got the fabric minus my plain brown fabric for the curtains. I thought I would post what it looks like because mom has been trying to describe it to people and she said it is just hard to describe. After the bedding is all made and the room is ready, I will post pictures as well. The animal print was our starting point and everything went from there. The polka dot fabric is a sheer fabric to go in the window between the curtains.
