Well it has been a week since my last blog, so I figure I have some catching up to do. Benjamin is almost 2 months old now. I can't believe how time flies! He smiles all the time now and has started trying to laugh. It never fails though as soon as the camera comes out the smiles stop or are not as big. Anyway... he is changing so much and growing like a weed. His length is really increased now. All his clothes 0-3 months fit him fine except in the length. His arms stick out longer than the sleeves and his legs are also too long for most of them now. It makes it hard to find clothes that work for him. It also doesn't help that I realized our washing machine has no cold cycle.. It says on there that there is a cold cycle, but it is all lies. My cold cycle is actually the hot cycle. Anyway... I didn't notice this until recently when I put it on the cold cycle and the clothes came out hot. The I put it on the hot cycle and they still came out hot. So i have no cold cycle which means clothes have been shrinking including Benjamin's clothes. Anyway... Benjamin is really in love with his daddy right now. Everything Brad says to him, he thinks is funny. He also loves to stare at brad. I find it quite amusing to watch. Benjamin is learning to self sooth right now, which has been a little hard on Brad and I. We don't want to hear him cry, but we are trying to make him learn that he can comfort himself. We have been working in stages with it. At first we go in and comfort him without picking him up, then the second time he starts crying we let him cry 5 min. then go in to pat his back and let him know he is okay. Then the third time we let him go 10 min. The longest we have waited was 8 minutes and he calmed down and fell asleep. He is starting to not be very interested in his pacifier, and very determined to figure out his thumb. He is getting very close to working it all out. He is sleeping very well, in fact last night I put him in bed around 11, and tried to wake him up at 12:30 for an extra feeding and he was not interested. I put him back in bed and didn't hear a sound from him. I woke up at 6:30 and went in and woke him up to feed him, put him back in bed and had to go in again at 10:30 to wake him up to eat. I think he is starting to like sleeping in his crib. Oh.. speaking of his crib, it is really funny to talk to him and if I say "Benjamin... are you going to sleep in your crib tonight?" he will get this big grin on his face. I don't know why he thinks it is funny, but he does. We have also discovered that he really loves his swing. He wasn't as fond of it when he was younger and would only stay in it for a little while, but now he loves it and will lay in it and babble at the little animals that hang down from it. I think it is super cute!
Just a picture of him sleeping on Brad's legs
Completely worn out and comfortable on Brad.
I finally finished the last touches on his room. I hung the shelf and put his animals on it and hung the pictures around it. We had ordered the pictures before he was born but I just now got around to putting them up.
This was my attempt at getting a picture of him talking.
Showing off his cute brown hat and sparkling blue eyes.
talking
laughing

Talking to his daddy.
I had to get this little outfit because it reminded me of his uncle brent. Brent would always say benjamin was just chillin'
One of his new favorite things to do... stand up
Staring at the bugs on his swing.
Smiling at his daddy
Talking then laughing at Brad.
I recently decided that i needed to switch out my dining room table for a smaller one we had stored at the house we used to live at. Our big table was a little too big for the room, so we replaced it with this smaller round table. It makes the room feel a lot better. I went and got a black table cloth to go on it so it would match the room. Well I guess that is about all that is going on with us right now. I am sure there are a thousand things I will think of that I forgot to mention, but if so I will just blog again.
