Recipe #7

Lauren Walker this is for you...

Chicken and Dumplings

This is a good portion for 2 people with a little left over

Boil 2 large chicken breasts in enough water to cover them.
Once boiled cut chicken into chunks and save the broth.
Add 1 can of chicken broth
cut up 2 stalks of celery into whatever sized pieces you prefer
cut up 15 baby carrots or about 3 regular sized carrots
add the celery, carrots, and chicken to the broth
Add in 1 tablespoon of sage and 1 tsp of salt.
boil on medium high until the carrots and celery are tender.

to make the sage dumplings
combine 1 1/2 cups of bisquick (you may need a little more depending on consistency)
2 tablespoons of sage
1/3 cup of milk (add more milk if needed)
Stir together and you want this to be a sticky consistency but you should be able to roll spoonfulls into a loose ball.
Drop into the pot and boil for 15 minutes

The sauce is a little thin, so feel free to add a little bisquick to the pot to thicken it up.

They will puff up a little.

ENJOY!

Some people don't like this sort of dumpling and are used to more noodle consistency dumplings.
