Does it really save?

I am trying to figure out just how much it saves to make my own baby food and not buy it at the store. I did buy 4 containers of sweet potatoes because I wanted to use the containers for baby food this week, but I have been thinking and I really don't want to be using plastic for Benjamin's food. There is always something. Anyway.. I paid $1.09 for 4 containers of stage 1 baby food. (these were on sale at this price)That is around $0.55 cents each. Right now Benjamin is eating baby food twice a day. So that means his meals for one day came to $1.09. Today I bought 3 lbs of green beans at the grocery store for $2.54. I have not made the baby food yet, but I am sure it is going to make a lot of green beans. I will do the math on the actual cost compared to baby food I bought on sale once I make it and find out how much it is going to make. Two ice cubes of food is equal to 1 container of stage 1 baby food.
