I went to the grocery store yesterday because I had dinner with one of my best friends, who was alos my maid of honor. She is in town from Memphis, so she came over for dinner. I had no clue what to make so I remembered my friend Danielle told me that the Fresh Market has a website and posts their recipes. So I got on this
site and looked up some recipes. I knew I was looking for a spinach and orzo pasta that Danielle had made that is AMAZING and so easy! But then I found a Tomato and Artichoke Chicken, that was also very easy and amazing! So i headed off to the grocery store expecting to use most of the gift card my mom got me. I only had 2 coupons that I could use on items. 1. was a free pilsbury cookie dough and the other a free gallon of milk (which milk is 4.19 right now! ) Then I got the esentials for my recipe. My total came to 29.09 and I had another coupon for 5.00 off a purchase of 30 or more. So I quickly added in a pack of gum and saved 5 more dollars. My total ended up being 17.00 and some change. I was really excited to get it down that low when I was expecting to spend a lot more. If I didn't have a gift card it would have really taken a chunk out of my weekly budget, but luckily I had the gift card! THANKS MOM! I think it might be my favorite gift card to get now! Anyway back to the recipes. They turned out wonderfully! For dessert I made sugar cookies, topped them with a scoop of vanilla frozen yogurt and some fresh strawberries. It was really good! I had not really had much sugar in a while, so I enjoyed my dessert. I am really learning portion control and also not going back for seconds. The hardest one for me is slowing down to eat. I hate when food that is supposed to be hot is not hot, so I inhale it to make sure it stays hot. Anyway I am making some good changes. I have lost 6 1/2 pounds so far. YAY! I am headed out to the gym today after work because I get off work early today.
