It is only 5am...

It's only 5am and my morning is off to a pretty amazing start! At 4:30 this morning I wake up because Benjamin started crying so I am making my way in the dark to his bedroom and as I get to his door I hear a "THUD.... SCREAMING" I knew immediately what had happened. Benjamin has started to stand up in his crib and had climbed on top of his bumper pad which is thicker than most and dove out of his crib onto the floor. I lowered his crib once already but you can bet it will be lowered to the lowest level before he goes to bed tonight! I have never felt like such a bad mother and so helpless. I immediately ran in to Brad with Benjamin in my arms screaming. It only lasted about 30 seconds and he was over it, but I am still not over it. Our son has turned into an acrobat! I have not let him go back to bed so I can watch and make sure he is fine. I checked his pupils to make sure they were still dialating and contracting and I checked him over really well. He is fine and fighting going back to sleep at this point.

I decided I couldn't go back to sleep (since I had to get up at 5 anyway) so I went in and put a pot of coffee on (decaf of course) which does me no good and I let the dog outside. I hear the dog whimpering and decided to check on her. I walk outside with just the back porch light on and I see her looking at me and she looked really funny. Then she started growling and ran past me. It was then that I realized her head was stuck in the top portion of her food despenser and she couldn't get her head out. So I helped her get her head un-stuck.

and like the children's book says.... "Today might be "a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day!" or at least it has started out that way!

FLASHBACK OF ANOTHER BUCZKOWSKI ACROBAT: I LEFT BRAD AND AARON IN THE LIVING ROOM WATCHING CARTOONS AS I WENT DOWN THE HALL TO PUT THE TOWELLS AWAY IN THE LINEN CLOSET. AS I WAS COMING THROUGH THE DOORWAY BACK INTO THE LIVING ROOM, I WAS 3 FEET AWAY FROM BRAD AS WE LOCKED EYES. DID I MENTION HE WAS ONLY 14 MONTHS OLD AND STANDING ON THE LEDGE OF THE OLD UPRIGHT PIANO? I WATCHED IN SLOW MOTION, (OR SO IT SEEMED) AS HE LOST HIS FOOTING (HE HAD BEEN STANDING ON THE LEDGE ON HIS TIPPY TOES), AND SLID ALL THE WAY DOWN HITTING THE FLOOR WITH A THUMP! ON THE WAY DOWN HIS MOUTH HIT THE MUSIC SHEET LEDGE AND BUSTED OPEN HIS MOUTH. BLOOD ALL OVER HIS FACE, LAYING ON THE FLOOR, BOTH OF US CRYING, AND AARON STILL WATCHING HIS CARTOONS. ANOTHER DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BUCZKOWSKI ACROBAT. HE IS HIS FATHERS SON.
