Post Surgery...

Sorry it has taken a little while to post. I was at the hospital and just got home. Mom got out of surgery around 6:15-6:30. She was pretty out of it still at 9 when we left. The doctors said that the electrical part of mom's heart is a pretty big mystery. They described it as playing "marco/polo" they would find an area they thought was causing the problem and were about to burn it and another area would go crazy. They did about 5 or 6 burns total and now it is a wait and see situation. She is off of all medication at this point to see if it fixed the problem. Her heart rate (sinus rythem ) is normal as of right now.

One thing the doctors did find is that one of the upper left chambers of her heart has a significant amount of scar tissue. They said it was really weird to see it in one area only and it is a huge mystery to them. They asked dad if she had ever been in a car accident or anything like that, that would cause trauma to one area. She has never had anything like that happen before. Dad asked if it could be from bacteria or a virus or something like that and they said "no", they also don't think it is related to a heart attack or anything like that. It honestly is a mystery.

Mom was starting to wake up a little bit and was asking a lot of questions. She told us that she woke up at one point during surgery and she felt them burn an area. She said she told them she could feel it. I don't think they expected her to remember that part. She said it hurt when they did it.

Tomorrow morning we should know more about the whole situation and if the ablasion worked for her. Keep praying that it worked and that it solved this problem.
