Happy Birthday Benjamin....

We celebrated Benjamin's first Birthday on December 6th with a BBQ and lots of fun at Nanna and Papa's house. Benjamin was full of himself as he played in his first cake and opened gifts. It was truely a day to remember. I will walk you through it with pictures.

Here is an example of the invitations that went out. They all had different animals on them. The poem I made up says:

The giraffe stretches his neck to see
and the elephant waves his trunk with glee
The lion roars to make it known
A year has passed, in fact it's flown...

The zebra runs to share the news
That birthday hats will be in use...
So come December 6th indeed
For Benjamin's first birthday stampeed!

This next picture is of Benjamin a week ago when the Enloe's came into town. They got him this big lion for his room. He really loves it.

Here we have Benjamin, Brad, and Red Marshall.

Our Cute little family

Benjamin and Grandpa, Uncle Andrew and Jacquelyn (sorry if I spelled your name wrong)

Benjamin with Nanna and PaPa.

Benjamin's own personal cake to dig into. We took off his clothes and let him dig in with a diaper on.

Benjamin and mommy blowing out his candle

Eating his yummy cake

This is the birthday cake I made to share with everyone at the party. It took a long time, but was well worth the effort. I got the idea on http://www.thepinkcakebox.com/ I made everything by hand. All the animals were made out of gum paste and hand painted. I was quite proud of my work.

Last here is a picture of benjamin around his toys. This was after we had put them all back in bags to take home. He had a blast! It was a WONDERFUL first birthday.
