Birth Control.. Update..

First of all thanks for the comments. I published all of them on my last post, because this is an issue for a lot of people and I don't mind sharing my struggle with it. Well my doctors office called back and I have 4 options... Continue the pill and see if my body adjusts more, just use condoms (this is how I got pregnant with Caleb), a diaphragm, or an IUD. I honestly don't know what I am going to do. Brad and I are going to have to talk about it. Anyone with experience with the IUD?

I do feel much better today, more level and not so crazy. Yesterday I just felt out of control!

i always tend to root for the "give it a little more time" option. 1. 3 weeks is definitely a short enough amount of time that your body is still definitely in an adjustment period. 2. Your postpartum hormones are still getting regulated, which makes a big difference too.
Hang in there friend!

Another option, but it's a bit of work, is the Fertility Awareness Method (FAM). You would buy the book of course, and you learn to chart your morning temp. (there's a lot of other stuff that goes into it but i won't post that all here). You can upload software to input your data and see when you are ovulating. You would still need to use condoms when you're ovulating, but it means you don't have to ingest hormones plus it's really neat learning so much about your body. The book is called Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler.
The major downside I have heard about with the IUD is that it can cause considerable discomfort, during implantation and for several months onward. You basically would just have to see how your body would respond. Hope this helps a bit!!! :)

I have the IUD (Mirena). I have had no problems with it and it does not interfere with my breastfeeding. I didn't have too many issues with it being uncomfortable. I've been told that the discomfort is more for people who have not already had children. Let me know if you have any specific questions about my experience! Good luck with a decision :)

I have a friend that swears by the charting method. she uses "fertilityfriend.com," not the book. but ive read a lot about it and am tempted to do it myself. it seems very interesting, and natural.

also i have 3 friends with an IUD and they all love it. they preach about it all the time. how great it is and how pills made them crazy and they love not having to remember to take the pill. they all 3 said it definitely was not pleasant to have it implanted but they all love it now.
