I debated on if I should post this as many people know who I worked with and I didn't want anything negative to come from this post or for it to sound negative in any way. We all know the economy has effected everyone, just in different ways.
Before Caleb was born, I experienced a really hard time at work as my job was moved to part time. I was the second hygienist to come into the office and in January the effects of the economy started making their way into the dental field as a whole. As a result I no longer have my job and I am currently looking for a new job in dental hygiene. What happens is that so many people have lost their jobs from the economy or have made cuts and they lose their insurance and can't pay out of pocket to go to the dentist. All this to say if you have dental insurance that you are paying for make sure you are using it and going to your regular cleaning appointments in the dental office. Insurance usually covers 2 cleanings a year, so take advantage and don't let your mouth suffer if you have your insurance. This will help our economy (it may be little, but every little bit helps) and it will keep people like me from losing their jobs. I am in no way angry or upset with my former employer, he had to do what he had to do for his company and there were not enough patients coming in to fill two whole schedules. On another note this has been the best blessing for me as I have been home with my boys for almost 8 weeks now, but it is time for me to get back to work soon as Brad will be back in school soon.
* Be in prayer for small businesses, like dentists who are feeling the effects of the economy
* Pray that I will find a job very soon as I really need to get back to work.
If anyone knows of anyone who is hiring a hygienist (in the Greenville area) please let me know! I am hoping that we can make it work for me to only work 3 days a week and still pay our bills but allowing me more time with the boys at home.
