Taken Advantage Of....

I am really quite shocked at the guts some people have. Let me tell you what happened to us.
Last night Brad and I had the chance to go out to a nice dinner at Flat Rock Grill. We had a visa gift card (that can be used just like cash or a regular credit card and you can check your balance etc) well we used it and put zero tip because we were going to give our waitress a cash tip. (because we wanted to leave the balance on the card) well we gave our waitress over a 20% tip because she was a really good waitress. Well today I went to target and was going to be using the remainder of the balance which I knew was somewhere around 52.00. The guy swiped the card and said it is saying the card only has 43.00 on it. So I came home and looked up the information on the card and our bill from last night showed up with 10.00 extra. Brad had written in the tip as 0.00 so the only thing we can assume at this time is that our waitress put a 1 in front of those zeros.
Well I printed out the sheet showing our current balance and how much was actually charged.
What am I going to do about it? Well I am getting bold as I get older so I am going to the restaurant tomorrow and I am going to speak with a manager about it. They should have the copy of our receipt that Brad signed. Unfortunately we did not keep our receipt copy, but there is no reason for a customer to come back in and complain about the tip they left for the waitress. I just feel so taken advantage of she ended up with a 20.00 tip. That was almost a 50% tip. Well I have a feeling she is probably going to end up losing her job over this. Unfortunately she picked the wrong person to do this to. If I didn't keep such close tabs on our budget and everything we spend she would have gotten away with it.

I will let you know what happens tomorrow after I go to the restaurant.

I don't know how the Visa check cards work but I know with my debit card they automatically scan it with a 15% tip just to make sure you have enough but it usually says "pending" beside it. Then, when the actual charge is accounted for then it evens out. If it were over the weekend sometimes it takes until Monday for it to get right. That's just how the debit card works??
