My little boy is already half a year old! 6 whole months have gone by since that day in march when we welcomed our tiny little one into the world! He is a complete joy and he has really started to become his little self lately! He is constantly smiling, always watching to see what benjamin is doing and no matter what or when he loves to be held and cuddle. He has started to really play with toys and learn to enjoy entertaining himself. He is LOVING eating solid food. Peas, sweet potatoes, apples, pears and bananas are what he has had so far. He has started to refuse nursing which is kind of disappointing. I wanted to at least make it to 8 months. I am still trying to get him to nurse 1 to 2 times a day, but he just doesn't want to. He will nurse for maybe 10 seconds and then stop and try to turn away and start playing. He loves his bottles though and gets completely excited when he sees them. Caleb has started to love his bath and realized that he can sit up and splash and have fun in the tub. He is recognizing those of us who are "family" and he knows who his daddy and mommy are. His sleeping is not great right now as he is in the habit of getting up between 5 and 6:30 am for no reason. We are doing everything we know to try and stop this habit. We have kept him up, not allowed him to nap, fed him solids before bed, given him bottles, nursed etc... The last resort thing to try is putting him to bed earlier then bedtime. There is a theory that sleep sometimes produces sleep, so the pediatrician has suggested putting him to bed a little earlier.
Calebs 6month appointment went well. He weighed in at 16 lbs which is 31.36 percentile
Length: 26.5 inches whiche is 46.02 percentile. He is still a little guy. I need to go back and compare the two boys at their different stages. Caleb is scooting on the floor now which is fun and he is starting to put his knees up under himself when on his stomach. He isn't sure what to do with his hands though so he just plants his face on the ground. You can tell when he has been doing this because his nose gets all red.
Caleb loves to grab hair and to pull at your face. He has an amazingly strong grip and can pinch really hard, not that it is on purpose or anything. He is full of life and such a wonderful joyful baby to have around. Brad is wondering if there is a volume button on him though because he is LOUD as well!
