Last night Caleb went to bed at 7:30 and at 4am I could hear him starting to wake up, to which I immediately started praying and making deals with God if he would just make him stay asleep. My deals with God didn't work because I was soon in the room with him holding him as he moved everywhere and couldn't seem to find a comfortable spot. He was squeeling because he was miserable. He was exhausted and rubbing his eyes. I was determined to get him to sleep. I tried everything I knew to do and was going to win the battle to NOT give him a bottle because he doesn't need it. I even asked his Doctor about this one. So after an hour and 40 minutes he finally drifted back to sleep. I too crawled into bed and didnt wake up again until 8:30 this morning when I heard Benjamin awake. I think this is progress (I hope it is).
Tonight we are going to move him to a different room in our house and he is going to have to cry it out until he gets himself back to sleep. We had to do this with Benjamin as well and it is complete torture for all of us. We allowed Benjamin to get in the habit of drinking a bottle when he woke up like that and he would go right back to sleep. He didn't have teeth so I didn't have to worry about baby bottle syndrome either and it was easy. It got us in trouble though and we couldn't get him out of the habit.
