Mom and I decided to take the kids to the Riverbanks Zoo yesterday as it was the last day of school for kids and we figured it wouldn't be crowded. The moment we walked in the zoo there was a huge downpour of rain. We were not sure if we would be able to make it around the zoo. We were prepared with umbrellas, and rain coats, but it was a pretty heavy rain. We waited at the entrance for about 10 minutes and that was it. The rain stopped an the sun came out. It ended up being a perfect time at the zoo. The bears were fun to watch. One was playing with logs and the other was getting in the water and laying on his back.
I thought this was a good picture of mom so I included it.
The kangaroos are not in a cage and you can just walk along a path near them. It was amazing to see how strong their tails were.
This was my favorite animal to watch. The gorillas were both sitting with their back to the glass and then would just look over at the people.
This gorilla kept sticking out his bottom lip like he was pouting. His eyes were open so it just made him look funny
The $6.00 train ride that went about 1/4 a mile and was done. The kids had fun though.
The weird Gecko's stuck to the glass
Feeding the birds nectar from little cups. One bit Benjamin and it hurt and after that he said "I did NOT like those little birds"We had a great time at the Riverbanks Zoo and the kids had a blast too. It was a fun filled afternoon.
