I wanted to blog about the differences in my three pregnancies just because I know one day I will get them mixed up and not remember which pregnancy I had what symptom going on.
With Caleb I basically had nothing except really bad heartburn. I didn't get sick with him and I think that is because my hormones did not have time to ever go back and were still crazy. I lived on zantac and tums through most of the pregnancy with him though.
Benjamin vs. Baby 3 (he doesn't have a name yet)
With Benjamin I got morning sickness starting around 9 weeks and lasting until 17 weeks. I would throw up almost every morning when I brushed my teeth. The rest of the day I would get a little nausea but it was bearable.
Baby 3- my morning sickness started around 7 weeks. This was morning sickness that I have never experienced before... It was unbearable. I was so nauseous I literally couldn't get off the couch on the weekends and would just lay around. I only threw up a handful of times but was nauseous all day every day. I thought this would end early, but I was so wrong. I was 20 weeks the last time I threw up and currently I am 27 weeks and still getting waves of nausea. I can completely handle it now when I do get it. I had to get a prescription for nausea medication and took it almost every day until about 15 weeks and then it was just on occasion on days I couldn't take it. I mostly took it to get me through days I worked. This pregnancy has been 10x worse then either of the other two boys.
With Benjamin I had heartburn from the beginning to the end and lived on zantac and tums.
With Baby 3 I have taken tums twice.
With Benjamin and Caleb I got constipated off and on throughout the pregnancy
With Baby 3 I only dealt with this at the beginning of the pregnancy
With Benjamin and Caleb I could not get enough sleep- I could have slept 24 hours a day in the first trimester.
With Baby 3 I had the opposite at first and felt tired but could not sleep at night. I had the pregnancy insomnia at first. I never have felt the tired where I could sleep 24 hours. I would take some naps and have generally been tired but not like with the first two.
With Benjamin and Caleb I would get leg cramps at night when I would sleep and I remember them more at first and then in the 3rd trimester... Some of them were really strong and make me sit up in pain.
With Baby 3 I just started getting them about 2 weeks ago and they are not bad, they wake me up but I don't have to rub them out or anything... They end quickly and I have not had any in the last week.
With both of the first two I got the dark line down my stomach and it was really dark.
With Baby 3 I don't have any dark line at all so far.
With Benjamin I could tell exactly where he was and what part of his body I was feeling etc. He always had his butt on my right side, then his back at the top of my stomach, and head over to the left. His legs would stay curled up under him.
With Caleb I could never find him in my stomach unless he was on the move. I could never tell back from butt etc.
With Baby 3 so far I can't tell what is where except I am pretty sure he likes to stay head down with his feet around my bellybutton. I am not 100% on this but so far this is what it feels like. If I want to feel him or make him move I can just press in by my belly button and there is usually what feels like a foot right there. I do know he is sitting much lower than either of the other two because he is putting so much pressure on my pelvic bone.
With Benjamin he liked to press on my sciatic nerve and would send a lot of pain down my leg.
With Baby 3 it is pelvic pain and pressure and also I have had a lot of throbbing around the pubic bone. They checked me at 26 weeks because of having so much pelvic pain they wanted to make sure that I was not starting any early labor or starting to soften. Everything looked fine.
With Benjamin and Caleb I remember being hotter than normal but it was bearable.
With Baby 3 I have been so hot I can't stand it. I know it is summer, but at night I don't even sleep with covers and have a fan beside me that runs all night. The temperature in the house has been kept a lot cooler than normal also. At work I get so hot with my mask and gloves that I have to stop and cool down because it starts to make me sick.
Benjamin and Caleb would both move a bit, but it would be in waves and they would calm down and I wouldn't feel them move for a while
Baby 3 it seems like non stop, constant movement. This baby wakes me up many times at night kicking, flipping and going to town moving. Then it seems he moves all day as well.
As of right now this is all I can think of off the top of my head to compare the pregnancies. If I think of more I will add them in as well.
