A Morning Project

Thank you Sunni for this idea...

This morning I was wide awake at 5am... The baby was on my bladder and I couldn't fall back to sleep. Then the baby woke up and was moving all around so there was no hope of going back to sleep. I got up and started drinking my coffee a little before seven I heard both boys awake and talking. They had to sleep in mine and Brad's bed last night because we painted their room and the fumes were too strong. I knew they would be up early. Well Caleb came out of the room whining and it had not even been 5 seconds since he woke up. I knew we were not off to a good start. Brad had to sit down and talk to him because he would not stop whining and crying and acting out. (Brad has a magic way of calming Caleb down when he will not listen to me. I decided that we needed to do something immediately or it would stay a bad day with Caleb. So I decided that we would make breakfast together. Breakfast Pizza is what was on the idea books.
So I got out the biscuit dough and we rolled out our dough into little pizza crusts.
They thought it was funny that the dough would stick to the rolling pin. But had fun rolling it out.
Next came toppings, Cheese, tomatoes, bell pepper, basil, bacon. They got to pick what they wanted on their own pizzas

I then put some egg over the top of them (it ran all over the sides) not sure how to get that to not run. I put them in the oven at 350 for about 15 to 20 min. Then I made smoothies and we ate a great breakfast together.

Before we ate we took the leftover dough and made mini pizzas in a muffin pan so the boys could have them for lunch. They put sauce, mini pepperoni and cheese in them.

Enjoying the hard work they put into making their own breakfast. Even Caleb's doggie decided to join us at the table.
It solved our problem of waking up with the grumpies and after that we have had a great morning. So thank you Sunni for the breakfast pizza idea it was a success.

Makes me so happy to see them having such fun! Wish I'd been there, too! You are a Super Mom.
