This year for Father's Day, Brad didn't have to work, so we were able to go down to my dads property. Its a place my boys love to go. The blueberries were just coming into season and a few bushes had some nice ripe berries. The boys love to pick them, so we spent some time picking the berries (they may have eaten as many as they picked) Elijah was in on it too. He had a little more fun putting the bucket on his head as his "Hat" though. After picking berries, we went on a hike through the woods. Elijah strapped to my back and the other two leading the way. Benjamin was determined to find water and sure enough he did. We followed the creek for quite a while. We saw frogs, tadpoles, a huge wolf spider, animal bones etc. The boys had a lot of fun. We also found a good tree for the boys to be hoisted up in so they could sit on the branch. After our hike we went back to the cabin and ate ribs that dad had slowly cooked on the smoker all day. We took a ride in the "cabobin" which is the old suburban that the kids love to ride around the property on. We saw some deer on our drive along with pig tracks. We stopped at the river so the kids could throw some rocks into the water and on our way back home we picked some blackberries that we saw. They were still pretty sour and not quite ready for eating. It was a really fun afternoon being outside with no TV and very limited cell service. It was also nice for Brad to have a day off since he had not had a day off in months. Happy Fathers Day to my dad and my husband. Both loving and wonderful fathers.
