Danielle and I traded... she has the johnny jump up and I got this play station for Benjamin. I put him in it and he got so excited and went to town playing with everything.
This is Benjamin's favorite way to sleep... cuddled up to someone! He is so spoiled.
Benjamin enjoyed sitting in the laundry basket for a little while, so we could all eat dinner. He quickly realized he was by himself and not with the rest of the family so he pitched a little fit so someone would hold him.
We had to bundle him all up to go on a walk. I didn't bring any of his jackets or anything, but nanna happened to have this little winter outfit that worked perfectly.
Tonight I finally made it to the grocery store. I sorted through some coupons and tried to make my decisions on what I needed etc. I got to the store and put Benjamin in the baby bjorn which he loved and started shopping. I love the grocery store, so I don't mind taking my time and getting the things I need. Granted with some of my coupons, the items were not necessities, but things I could get for a fairly good deal. My goal was to spend under $40.00 for the week and I came in at $39.21. I say I stayed in budget very well. I saved $19.38 with coupons and my bonus card. There are a few items I wanted to get, but was unable to find. I will have to go somewhere else next week to find them. Combining these above items with things I already have will end up with fairly good meals this week. Let me tell you how I think the meals will go.
1. French Vichyssoise Soup- with the leeks and potatoes. This is a summer soup and very delicious. It only takes about 10 min. to make and then you can simmer it in the crock pot for hours until you are ready to eat it.
2. Cheese steak salad- I will post this recipe (it is one of my favorites for a light but filling spring/ summer meal.
3. Fijatas- using the leftover meat from the above salad.
4. Garlic chicken pasta (it is the frozen dinner) This will be used for a busy night with little time to prepare dinner.
5. Homemade pizza- I am excited about this one as I have never made homemade pizza.
6. Boston Butt cooked in apple cider and brown sugar and served over rice. ( I will probably do this for Sunday dinner)
My meals this week will probably carry over into next week, as we are going out to dinner on Sat. with family, and then I am sure a few other nights will include dinner at mom's since Brent and Anne are in town.
I don't like any of the CVS deals this week, so I am not going to make a run to CVS. Maybe next week.
