I forgot to post about all our car problems while out in California... only something that would happen to our family. Dad rented 2 suburbans for use to get everyone where we needed to be etc. Well some of Brent's friends also had rental cars. The night of the rehearsal dinner one of Brent's friends parked his car on the side of the street and he ended up staying in the hikers cabin (which we had rented out for the groomsmen) at the inn where the dinner was. Anyway it was parked across the street from a driveway. Well the guy who lives in the house across from where the car was parked is not used to having cars in the street and got in his HUGE pick up truck and flew out of the driveway right into the side of Brent's friends car. Two days earlier Brandon (my older brother) got a flat tire on one of the suburbans driving to the trail the guys took to go camping for Brent's bachelor party. The day of the wedding dad was trying to park his suburban on a narrow road with cars parked all down the side of it and slammed right into the side of Brent's car busting out his tail light and smashing in the side of the suburban he was driving. Around 1am I get a call from Brandon saying that he was trying to leave the reception, and can't because another one of his tires is flat and he doesn't have another spare tire so he and the other guys were just going to spend the night at the Thamer's house (anne's parents). The day after the wedding we got a call from Brent and Anne saying they got pulled over on their way to Medford, OR where they were flying out of to go on their honeymoon. The cop pulled them over because of their busted headlight and thought they were drug smugglers! They told him their story, that they had just gotten married and that dad hit his car earlier that day etc.. the cop finally believed him and sent them on their way. Lastly Brandon ended the trip with a speeding ticket. He was in a group of cars all traveling the same speed and the cop picked Brandon out of the pack and gave him a ticket.
We had really bad luck with the car situation... At least Anne and Brent had a wonderful wedding!
