Mom is doing well. I went and saw her tonight. She had the scope procedure done earlier today. There are no blood clots which is really good. They also said she doesn't have the A-fib like she has thought for years that she had. She has something similar to it. Anyway they did not shock her heart back into rhythm. In order to do that you have to have some sort of steady rhythm to be able to shock it at the correct time. Mom's rhythm is all over the place and there is no pattern to it, so they didn't do the procedure. They may end up doing the ablasion (sp?) surgery to burn parts of the heart that are sending the incorrect signals. This surgery (if they are able to do it) would mean that mom would no longer have to take any medication for the problem.
Movement sets her heart completely off. Tonight she moved a little to sit up in bed slightly and it sent her heart rate up to 140 from 70 and it was still not regular at all 30 minutes later when I left.
Mom doesn't feel terrible, just worn out.
Thank you for all the prayers. Mom really appreciates them!
