So we had an interesting morning this morning. I woke up all of the sudden with a really bad cramping sensation in my lower abdomen. I got up since it was almost time for me to get up for work and soon realized the cramping was happening in regular intervals. I went and laid back down which woke Brad up, so I proceded to tell him about it and we began timing them. They were every 9 minutes for an hour (at this point we called the doctor) They said we should head to the hospital. We got there and signed in etc.. At this point they had been consistent for 2 hours. Got up to the room and of course right before the nurse came in I had a really intense contraction and that was the last bad one I had. Come to find out I was internally dehydrated from having the stomach flu last weekend. I just never got fully recovered. They had to give me a shot to stop contractions and run an IV of lots of fluids. We didn't leave until after 1pm this afternoon. Everything is fine though. Baby is fine, I am fine, Brad is fine.. Just a little tired. The one thing I do know from this experience is that I do not have an interest in natural labor... Give me an epidural all day long! Contractions hurt!
Benjamin is with my mom today... so thank you mom for picking him up so early this morning.
