Walgreen's How To...

I finally have the information on how to make Walgreen's work for you.... I am sorry for the delay.

First of all I do not shop Walgreens very often, but they do have good deas to take advantage of. After researching more about how to do this, I realized I might want to start using walgreen's more.

There are 3 types of deals at Walgreens:

1. Coupon Stacking
2. Rebate Booklet
3. Register Rewards

Coupon Stacking:

you can use the coupons in the weekly flyer that Walgreen's prints.
you can use coupons from the newspaper or that are printed off the computer
you can use coupons that are in the rebate booklet at the Walgreens store.

Coupon stacking means using coupons that are manufacturer coupons (like the ones in the paper) and using coupons that Walgreen's puts in their flyer that are not manufacturer coupons at the same time to get more of a savings.

For example:
say walgreens had Tide detergant for $8.99 and in the weekly flyer there is a coupon for $3.00 off Tide (cut out this coupon) This coupon would make it $5.99. BUT... In the newspaper that week there was a coupon for $1.00 off Tide. Use both the walgreen's coupon and the manufacturer coupon to get a total of $4.00 off. This means you get the Tide for $4.99

Grab extra store flyers and rebate booklets so you have plenty of coupons to work with.

Rebate Booklet:
This is also called the Easy Saver Book. This is a small booklet next to the store flyers that Walgreen's prints.

This book has coupons, and free after rebate deals for the month. Often items that get listed in the book won't be free after the rebate, but they will often go on sale sometime that month and when on sale they become free after the rebate. So keep an eye on things that you want but may not be on sale yet.

To make the rebates work, you need to go to the store and pay out of pocket for the item. Then you send in your receipt with the rebate form to get it free.

You have 2 options to get payment back. The first is as a check and the other is a gift card. It would be a better idea to get the gift card. They will give you 10% more for choosing this option, and you use it like money on other rebate purchases.

Once you get the gift card, use it to buy other free after rebate items and you should not have to pay money for them out of pocket. You can use coupons too and keep sending in the rebates to renew your card. This basically re-charges your card for more items. So it rolls over month after month. This is more out of pocket up front, but after that initial payment you should be able to never pay out of pocket again.

It will take 4 to 6 week for the first rebate or gift card to get to you. Once you get it, you can recharge it with other rebates and that takes 2 to 3 weeks. You will get a post card saying money was added to your card and always be sure to check the website for the status of the rebate.

Register Rewards:
This is similar to CVS extra care bucks. They give you register rewards on certain products you buy. When you buy an item with RR on it, a coupon prints on the receipt in that reward amount.

It is like getting cash to use on your next purchase. Sometimes you may be able to get the item free by using store and manufacturers coupons and make the deal better.

There is no limit on how many of one deal you can do with register rewards. Some stores are picky though. RR do count as a coupon.

Make sure you have the same number of coupons as you do items.

The order you hand your coupons to the person at the register is very important. It can jam the system and you end up paying more if not in this order.

Register Rewards first
Manufacturers coupons next
store coupons (from flyers) last

Hand each section one at a time so the person at the resgister doesn't just mix them up.

ok... so here are the walgreen's deals this week acording to money saving mom's website: Don't get frustrated if deals don't work out exactly like it says... You will learn the process.
