Yesterday Brad and I spent ALL day trying to get the new curtains I sewed hung up. He would watch Benjamin so I could go get the necessary stuff and not have to deal with a child while trying to quickly run in a store.. It ended up taking 3 trips to get everything because of how long our window is. We had to get 12 feet of curtain rod and trying to hang it so the weight of the curtains don't pull it down was really hard!
Here is our before picture of the window with the awful sheer that was here when we moved in.
Attention to detail.... This is the trim I picked out to go along the inside length of the curtain.
This is a close up of where I had to sew the curtain so the fabric matched up. The window was so long I had to sew 1 1/2 panels together to cover the entire length when closed. This window let out a lot of heat from our house and now hopefully we can start saving a little on our heating bill.
My parents came and picked up Benjamin and he spent the night at their house last night. The poor little guy needed a change of scenery as he had been cooped up in the house with all the rain. After they got him Brad and I ate dinner and kicked into full cleaning mode. I spent 3 hours in the bathroom and I think it is the cleanest it has ever been. I scrubbed every inch of the floor, baseboards, toilet and bathtub. I dusted the blinds, hung up a glass shelf in the top of the shower for shampoo etc. and also cleaned the shower curtain. It was a major project. It is so nice and clean now though.
