Benjamin doesn't say his "s" sound very well with words beginning with "s". He calls santa "Hanta" and he is very excited about santa right now. As we waited in line to see santa there were 2 other families in front of us and Benjamin was getting impatient I kept trying to explain to him that we had to wait his turn and his reply was "ben ben turn now" or he would say "my turn." He actually got to see santa twice because his gramma took him a few days after I did. He told santa he wanted a dump truck. The day his gramma took him Brad and I went and picked the boys up that evening at her house and on the way home we were talking to Benjamin about his day.
Me:"Benjamin what did you do today"
Benjamin: Ga Ga house.
Me: Oh you went to gramma's house today? Where else did you go?
Benjamin: Ga Ga take Ben Ben... see Hanta
Me: Oh gramma took you to see santa?
Benjamin: Hes (yes)
Me: What did santa say to you?
Benjamin: Ho Ho Ho!
Me: did you tell him what you wanted for Christmas?
Me: did you tell him what you wanted for Christmas?
Benjamin: Hes... dump twuck!
I have been trying recently to tell Benjamin that the reason we celebrate christmas is because of Baby Jesus being born. I of course tell him all of this in the best two year old level that I can. I thought he was kind of getting it. Tonight when I was putting him to bed, we were cuddling and talking in the rocking chair and I said Benjamin why do we celebrate christmas? Benjamin's reply: cake cakes (pancakes) Jesus!
I guess he hasn't quite grasped the whole Baby Jesus concept yet so we will keep talking about it.
