Let it Snow...

I have this thing about Christmas... I have lived in Greenville my entire life and it has NEVER snowed on Christmas and it is usually not even very cold for Christmas. When its warm on Christmas it just makes it feel so un-holiday to me. When I was in 2nd grade I went to a private school and my teacher would take prayer requests every day. This year in 1989 we would be traveling to Florida for Christmas and I wanted nothing more then to have snow. So each and every day my request was for snow in florida. Here is what happened and yes I take full credit for asking for this snow in Florida:

The most paralyzing event occurred two days before Christmas 1989 (pictured, here). A steady light rain and tumbling temperatures caused the rain to turn to freezing rain which made travel over bridges and overpasses impossible.
As the temperature fell to 26 degrees on Dec. 23, the rain turned to sleet, then to snow. The snow did not melt and winds caused snowdrifts several inches deep in some areas.
This was the first white Christmas in Jacksonville's history, the snow lasting in some areas for three or four days.

So here we are 20 years later and I am still praying for snow on Christmas, except in Greenville, SC. I have for the past 5 years made a point to pray throughout the year for it to be cold and snow on Christmas eve and Christmas day. I will continue to do this until it happens :) As of right now there is a prediction of snow on Christmas eve and Day and I am deep down like a giddy child~ I want it to happen so bad!
The amazing thing about prayer is that the Lord we serve loves us enough to answer prayers for snow even in a place like Florida. There is nothing too big or too small for him to do. Now it may not snow this Christmas and I will still be thankful just the same, but my prayers will continue. One day in the Lord's timing we will have a white christmas. I guess we will find out in a week if we will have a white Christmas after all.

I love this, I feel the same way about snow on Christmas and hate to wake up to a 60 degree Christmas morning :)

I'll pray too!!
