So my nesting has been a bit out of control this pregnancy (in a good way). I got so much done and then felt stuck until Brad could get some things done for me that I could not do. Mom came over this past week and spent 8 hours helping me in Benjamin and Caleb's room getting the whole room painted. I couldn't breathe the paint so unfortunately she was stuck doing it all on her own. I wanted one accent wall done in blue and the rest is done in a color called Antique. The first few hours mom and I spent moving furniture around the boys room trying to switch the places of the two bunk beds. They were too heavy for either of us to lift so we just kept sliding them around. It was like a puzzle to try and get them to fit with other furniture in the room etc. We switched them to make it easier for Brad because he would need them switched in order to make them into bunk beds. (which actually ended up not being an issue at all and we could have skipped it entirely) Anyway.... the room now has bunk beds and the kids are thrilled. Brad had to rig the ladder to be a little higher because I wanted it to be a little higher so Benjamin couldn't roll off the top. It all worked perfectly. He still has one piece to add to the bottom of the ladder. The room is not done by any means, but it is painted, and there are bunk beds which I am so excited about. Here are some pictures...
Brad had the boys come try it all out to see where he needed to add brackets or to make sure everything was fine for their height etc. Here is Benjamin climbing onto his top bunk for the first time.
Climbing...
Climbing....
Made it to the top!
Caleb had to give it a try. There is no way we would have given Caleb the top bunk.. He would be doing back flips off of it in about a month.
Here is Caleb in mid-bounce on his lower bunk. We told him his bunk was more like a fort now and he thought that was the coolest thing ever.
Pure excitement...
After Brad made some final adjustments I went in and put their beds back together before they went to sleep.
I still have a lot to do in their room, but this is what needed to happen so that I could get in there and get organized. I will take more pictures as I get more done.
