Boys.... they love to hit things, break things, smash things and ruin anything in their way. I came across an idea I thought was genius and I found a recipe for cotton balls that you bake and smash! I immediately knew my boys would LOVE this. So I found a bag of 200 cotton balls for like a dollar. Put some tin foil on a baking sheet and then mixed 2 cups of flour with 2 cups of water. I split the "batter" into bowls and put in my drops of dye.
Next I obviously mixed it all up.
Then we got to work dipping in the cotton balls into the flour mixture, making sure to cover it well and then placed them on the tray.
Here they are ready to bake. I put them in the oven at 300 degrees for 45 min to 1 hour.
Then I gave each of the boys a bag of them and told them they could do whatever they wanted with them as long as after they were done they put them in the trash.
They started by stomping them, at one point they were running over them with trucks, their bikes. They even put them on the ground and sat on them to smash them. It honestly was not that exciting when they busted... I thought they would do something but it just breaks the outside shell and exposes the cotton ball. My boys loved it though.
I am looking forward to other projects and fun things to do with the boys. It should be fun. I am sure we will do this one again.
