Being a mom is hard, but being a mom to boys is really hard. I constantly have to be on my toes with new ideas or new ways to do things so that my boys are occupied and not doing things that will get them in trouble. Back in early November my boys got their crayons and markers and their innotab (educational video game thing) taken away. Both were in "timeout" until after Christmas. My boys could not stop writing on things other than paper and it was becoming a problem. I feel that my boys are getting easier now that they are a bit older and we are able to do more things. I try to rotate toys and not get things out often to where it is not fun to have something special out. The Play-doh is one of those things. So we started out the new year with a bang and got out the play-doh. We first got it out on new years day but after a short amount of time playing we had to head over to my parents house, so I told the boys we could leave it out and come back to it. The next morning first thing when we got up they asked to play with it. They played SO nicely together. They decided they were going to be making candy for Jesus and for Kids. They created all kinds of play-doh candies and spent hours doing this. They started about 7:45 and were still at it by 11:00am. I was thankful for it because it allowed me to sit and drink my coffee and still watch what they were doing. They would create things and bring them to me to try and then they would make me a "cake" and have me come in with my eyes closed to surprise me with it. I love their little imaginations and how they are starting to really use them. It was a great way to spend a rainy day with very little fighting or being bored.
