The night before Easter we dyed eggs. The boys each got to dye a few. Then the Easter Bunny came to our house.
The Easter Bunny brought Elijah his "gaf" that he fell in love with and is completely attached to. He also got a broom to help sweep, since he was constantly taking my broom and losing my dust pan.
There was an egg trail to the door and 10 eggs hidden for each child. Elijah was very into all of it and had fun going through his basket and finding eggs too.
Once the marshmallow peeps were discovered that was the end... they had to be eaten.
And then the chocolate mazes were eaten too. I always feel sorry for the people who have nursery duty at church on Easter. The kids are all jacked up on sugar. It has to be extra crazy!
That morning the boys watched the Jesus Storybook Bible DVD movie of the Easter story and we talked about the real meaning of Easter.
After church we had lunch at Brad's moms house. The boys were excited to hang out with Uncle A too.
Around dinner we headed over to my parents house and the boys got to go on an easter egg hunt.
Elijah kept trying to put the decorations into his easter basket. Afterall it was an egg.
We had a wonderful dinner together and then had to get our tired, cranky, sugar crashing kids home to bed. It was a long day filled with family and fun. Thank you Lord for the sacrifice that is so hard to even comprehend. Thank you for the opportunity for life and forgiveness each day because of this wonderful gift! Thank you for rising again and defeating death. Happy Easter!
