I wish you could have been in my house yesterday around 4:30pm. Brad was holding Caleb and Benjamin was sitting with me at the computer when all of the sudden I hear Brad say "Oh my goodness!" I said "what's wrong" he said "I need some help, Caleb just exploded all over me" I walk in the living room and Caleb had latterly exploded on Brad. All over his shirt, all over Caleb's outfit, all over Caleb's leg and even on the couch. So I grab a diaper cloth and pick Caleb up and take him to the changing table. I put him down and decide that I need to immediately get him in the bath. Well as all this is going on, brad is changing (because he is late to meet a friend) my little brother, his wife and two boys arrive. So I go and get the bath in the sink and start running the water to fill it up. I walk away to go check on Caleb and start to get him cleaned up. I come back in the kitchen to find that when I turned on the water I forgot to plug up the tub so it was all just running out, and best of all the water was hitting the infant hammock in the tub and spraying all over my kitchen.... but the best part is that Benjamin thought it was so fun and is standing right in the middle and soaking wet. Not to mention he decided to go potty in his pants somewhere in the middle of all of this. So I start cleaning up the floor, fill the tub, get Caleb in the tub, finally get benjamin changed and in new clothes and realize that I need to meet Danielle in a few minutes because we were riding together to the state park where her husband was doing a show.
So I finally make it to Danielle's and we get all the boys in their car seats and start heading out (just a little late) and as we were driving I missed the turn so I was like "I'll just do a U turn" so I did a U turn and joked about hitting the curb as I turned... well I hit the curb alright... when I did my tire exploded! We inch our way into the parking lot near us and I get on the phone to call brad. Well the phone calls never even registered on his phone and it never rang. Danielle decided to run through the parking lot to the auto parts store to see if anyone could help us (she is also 8 months pregnant) While she was gone this amazing couple pulled up and changed the tire in about 5 minutes. The bad news was that the spare tire was flat. Danielle arrived as they had finished changing the tire. We inched our way to the auto parts store so they could put air in the tire for us. (Oh I forgot to mention that I still at this point had not even put clothes on Caleb. I just had him in a diaper after his bath) I open the back door to check Caleb and he has spit up all over himself! I just had to laugh at the sequence of events. We finally get on the road and arrive at the park (somewhere like 40 minutes late) We have to get the boys in the stroller, caleb in the front carrier and our picnic dinner and realize that we have a little hike to go on with all our stuff to get to the amphitheater. We finally made it (I did get a grasshopper in my shoe and it squished between my toes). Danielle and I couldn't help but just laugh because only something like this would happen to us!
