This was my date for ringing in the new year. He was really into the celebrations.
I started out the new year by trying to organize my life a little bit. I started making our family binder. I am pretty excited about making this binder because I really need to have this kind of information in one location. This binder will be where everything is kept such as school calendars, sports schedules for the kids, meal planning, doctors office information etc. It is a binder that can quickly be grabbed and quickly reference information. After working on the binder for much of the day, Brad went and watched the Gamecocks beat Michigan. This also meant I had one happy husband. After Brad was done watching the game we went over to my parents for collards, black eyed peas, and cornbread. This is a traditional meal in our household every new years day. I wanted to get to the store so I could make some, but the though of getting out in the rain with the kids was not very appealing. Then dad texted me to say they had collards and peas waiting whenever we wanted it. Awesome! We stayed over at their house until 10 and then we had to get the kids home and in bed.
It was a nice relaxing way to start the new year. I can't wait to finish my binder. I am sure I will have to make changes or purge sections we end up not using. I will post some about it later to see what it looks like. Tomorrow my plan is to do laundry basically all day and also to start meal planning so that I know what to make and eat while starting Weight Watchers. It should be a productive day but we will see how it goes. Just because I plan it out does not mean it is going to go the way I plan it.
So happy new year! I look forward to what the year is going to bring and look like!
