Day 4: Continued... Hello New Mexico

We hit the road after Cadillac ranch and finished our trek across the top of Texas. There is not much to see  going across Texas - it is flat and fields and ranches.

We did see this train coming along the side of the road and we met at the same point. We were laughing and telling Brad to race it and low and behold we beat it. We were all laughing about it because the Rolling Ruckus doesn't have the most giddy up.
We opened windows and watched the scenery. We saw deer and cows and silos and tons of open land. We started playing a game called Wet or Dry. Basically when we saw a bridge or something like that we had to guess if there was a creek/river or was it just dry land. Most of them ended up being dry land.
This is one of the big silos that we passed along the way.

Welcome to New Mexico
New Mexico had a little change in scenery in that every once in a while you would see one of these plateau type areas etc. For the most part it was just open flat land.
Selfies in the RV- Callie has been doing great along the way. She likes to get up in the driver seat to look around.

This was taken out the screen, but it was one of the RV parks we were going to stay at- Coyotee Keiths and it was literally open land with this big tank and the RV park name written on the tank. We were glad we ended up not staying there.
I wasn't sure if we would get many stops throughout New Mexico, so I took a picture of the kids at the gas station. We were going to stop at this BBQ place we kept seeing advertised at the end of town, but got there and it was closed down. We backtracked to the gas station and loaded up on food there. I was trying to get some scenery in the picture but this was the best we had at the time in New Mexico.
Lunch on the RV
A little bit of landscape change.

We kept seeing these deer throughout the landscape- they blend in really well

When we saw a sign for a historical marker Brad decided we needed to see what it was, so we pulled over and at this point the wind had really picked up again. My hair was not pulled back, but due to the wind it looks like I have it back though.
The historical marker

We were laughing at this picture because both Benjamin and Caleb are doing the same thing and wearing the same outfit.

We stopped again for another historical marker to find out it was the same thing...
Then we saw signs for a 3rd historical marker only to figure out that it was once again the same thing. We decided that was our last marker for a while in New Mexico.
As we got closer to Colorado we could see the snow topped mountains in the distance and started getting more uphill climb in the drive.

As we were going uphill,  the Rolling Ruckus was struggling. Between the wind and uphill climb we were not sure if we would make it.

We didn't get a last family picture in New Mexico but did make it into Colorado.
