Day 4: Hello Colorado

Colorado welcomed us with a stop at the sign where we could get out and get a picture. The wind was continuing to blow with great force.

The views were beautiful and we were amazed how many different types of land there were.

We saw this guy with a car about to fall out of the back of his truck.

The mountain views were amazing. The RV was seriously struggling and Brad was flooring it only to go 40 mph. We are not sure the Rolling Ruckus is going to make it to California and back. We have started thinking about options. Not to mention that we now need to get 6 new tires because all the driving has completely worn the tread off the tires.

In the distance we started to see the sand dunes at the base of the mountains.
I wish pictures would do justice to the beauty of this place and how vast these mountains and sand dunes are.

We arrived at the great Sand Dunes Oasis- where we are spending two nights. They told us that the wind is caused by the warm air hitting the cold air. Tomorrow we are not supposed to have any wind (thankfully). They also said that there is a hot spring close by and a hike to a waterfall. We will see what we can fit in, but number one for tomorrow will be sand boarding at the dunes.

We ate dinner at the little restaurant here at the campground. We had a great view of the dunes from our table.
After dinner we went back to the RV and got everyone ready for bed. Eden fell and scraped her knee on the walk back to the RV so after that her world fell apart. She missed her grandparents, and she missed home etc. I got her in pjs and put a movie on for her. She fell asleep watching it. The boys finally settled in watching the great outdoors (which I am not sure how that is only PG). We are all worn out and ready for bed and ready for a new adventure tomorrow.
